What Is a DTF Gang Sheet? (And Why It Saves You Serious Money)

A gang sheet is one large sheet of DTF film packed with multiple designs — different artwork, different sizes, all printed together. Instead of paying per design, you pay for the sheet and fill every inch. It's the single biggest cost-saver in DTF, and it's how professional shirt sellers keep margins healthy.

How gang sheet pricing works

DTF is priced by film area. A single 10×10″ transfer might cost $8–10 on its own — but a 22×60″ gang sheet holds a dozen adult prints plus pocket logos and sleeve hits, bringing each design down to a fraction of the standalone price. The bigger the sheet, the lower your cost per square inch.

What can you put on one sheet?

Anything. Mix freely:

• Full-front adult designs (10–12″ wide)
• Youth and toddler sizes of the same design
• Left-chest and pocket logos (3–4″)
• Sleeve prints, hat patches, neck labels
• Completely different designs for different orders

5 layout tips to waste less film

1. Fill the gaps. Tuck small pocket logos and neck tags between large designs.
2. Rotate to fit. Turning a design 90° often unlocks another row.
3. Leave ~0.25″ between designs so cutting is easy — more than that wastes space.
4. Batch your bestsellers. Print 10 of your top design instead of one-offs; you'll press on demand.
5. Think a season ahead. One sheet can carry this month's orders plus next holiday's prep.

Gang sheet vs. by-size: which should you order?

By-size is perfect for one-off custom orders — one design, one size, fast. Gang sheets win the moment you need 3+ prints. If you sell regularly, gang sheets should be your default.
